The ambiance at Teriyaki Don is casual and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a quick, fulfilling meal or a relaxed date night. Diners consistently praise the friendly and professional staff who work efficiently, even under the pressure of multiple catering orders—a testament to their commitment to great service and customer satisfaction.
The highlight of the day is the Daily Special, and the Thursday Ginger Chicken Don truly stands out. This dish features tender thigh meat sautéed in a signature ginger sauce, served atop fluffy steamed white rice alongside a refreshing spring salad dressed with sesame house dressing. This burst of warmth, spice, and subtle freshness is a compelling example of how the kitchen balances bold flavors with comforting simplicity.
Sushi lovers will find themselves delighted with the variety of rolls, such as the Spicy Shrimp Roll, which boasts a perfect blend of heat and umami, and the classic California Roll, generously layered with imitation crab, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber, all topped with delicate masago and sesame seeds that add a quiet crunch. Their beverage offerings, including the uniquely sweet and fizzy Ramune soda, round out the dining experience, making it both culturally immersive and refreshingly authentic.
While most patrons share glowing reviews, noting the rich flavors and consistency (“so flavorful and cooked to perfection”), a few have hinted at occasional hiccups—such as a slightly overlooked grill cleanliness or moments when the chicken edges a bit too far into burnt territory during peak lunch hours. These candid observations only show how passionate the regulars are about maintaining the high standards Teriyaki Don strives for.
In essence, Teriyaki Don delivers a flavorful roadmap through beloved Japanese comfort foods with an unmistakable Fresno twist. Whether you’re craving a crispy tempura veggie delight, a hearty bowl of Spicy Teriyaki Chicken, or a creative Teriyaki Don Burger, this spot promises a dependable, satisfying meal loaded with fresh, bold tastes and friendly neighborhood hospitality.
Got the daily special. Chicken and steak over rice with a salad. Super good! Staff was great even though they had multiple catering orders they still got me in and out!
Hey everyone! I just tried Teriyaki Don and ordered the Yaki Udon Pan-Fried Chicken Noodles, along with the Spicy Chicken with Rice and Salad. The food is great, the drinks are good, the staff very friendly and professional. Had a wonderful date night. Only thing that got me was the grill was not fully clean. At the edge and in the corner, crumbs of something were left behind. The cook still missed them when he did his wipe down. Maybe it's just my pet peeve. I don't want to see what someone else had for their meal prior to mine. Utensils, cups, etc.
I really love this place, but lately when I place my order I’m getting burnt chicken. I’m not picky person I tried eating it, but it taste burnt. I checked it in my car, but when I got home the burnt pieces were at the bottom (hidden). I don’t live in Fresno so it’s my loss. Last time it’s was almost all burnt. It’s been happening weekends during the lunch period. Not sure if they have a new cook or just trying to save, which I get but i don’t think people can even taste the chicken if it’s burnt .
